Plant Lamp II
Introduction
One of the assignments of this studio is the exploration of biomaterials. We took banana peels, a waste material that has no value to humans, to make bioplastic. After finding that the structure of the banana peel is curved, we used a knitting method to weave the bioplastic along the curve of the banana peel. After that, based on the features of experiments, we used the electrical conductivity of biological materials and came up with an application scenario: A lamp that would shine a pulsing light, almost as if it were breathing when touched. The light was soft and comforting, and the lamp itself had a warm and inviting feel to it.
This lamp was more than just a piece of furniture; it was a reminder of the beauty that can be found in something as simple as a banana peel. It was also a reminder that small changes can make a big difference, and that waste can be put to good use.

We made biomaterials based on bananas. Except for the first one, which is about grinding a banana peel, the others explore how the peel is woven.
